Kathryn Sargent is the world’s first female Master Tailor, with over 27 years of tailoring expertise, and leading the next era of Savile Row Bespoke tailoring houses with her eponymous business. After completing an apprenticeship at Gieves & Hawkes, she rose to the esteemed position of Head Cutter, the first and only woman in the history of Savile Row to do so, then, compelled by a deep appreciation of the craft in 2012 she launched her tailoring house, Kathryn Sargent which is located at No. 21 Ryder Street in London’s prestigious St James’s. Last Autumn saw the opening of the second atelier in Edinburgh’s Georgian New Town, which is overseen by Kathryn’s former apprentice and Scottish native, Alistair Nimmo. The new Edinburgh shop blends traditional Scottish textiles and dress with the unique craft of Kathryn Sargent to create garments of sustainable luxury.
Breaking with tradition we offer tailoring for all genders focusing on the specific requirements and personality of each client rather than a set house style. We advise and collaborate to create garments that exhibit some of Kathryn’s signature elements yet are entirely individual to each client. In both London and Edinburgh we offer Bespoke, Couture and our Crafted made to measure services tailored to your individual needs for the everyday or special occasions.
